Martin Barral, music at heart

Martin Barral teaches cello (he won the prize of excellence unanimously) and has been conducting the Orsay Symphony Orchestra since 1998.

With Martin Barral, the orchestra has made some "premieres". The Orsay Symphony Orchestra, for example, created in October 2000 a work by Piotr Moss written for him on behalf of the French Ministry of Culture, "Le Petit Singe Bleu" based on a text by Jean-Louis Bauer, and in 2011 the cello concerto by Philippe Chamouard. In 2012, the world’s first recording of César Franck’s oratorio "Ruth" (1871) was released and in 2017, the symphony in C minor by Fernand Halphen (1897) had not been performed since 1930.

The orchestra regularly gives programs with choirs, with the collaboration of the Choir of the Campus d'Orsay (founded by Daniel Couderd, who has worked exclusively with the orchestra for years), and choirs Darius Milhaud and Amadeus (Paris) who organize most Parisian concerts.
